Terms of use

Last updated 17 October 2026. These terms are between you and Mixout Technologies Private Limited ("we"), 3803 Bayview, Hiranandani, Old Mahabalipuram Road, Egattur, Chennai 600130, India. By using Chitra Studio you agree to them.

The app

Chitra Studio is a Mac application for organising and generating AI images and video. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it. Your library and everything in it belongs to you.

The yearly licence

• The app is free to download and to organise a library with. Generating needs a licence, which costs US$49 a year and covers every Mac you sign in on.
• The licence renews automatically each year, and the renewal is charged to the payment method you bought it with. You can turn renewal off at any time in Settings → Account; the licence then runs to the end of the year you paid for and is not charged again.
• Each year's payment adds 50 credits to your account.
• A new account starts with a free trial: 14 days of the licence and 50 credits, without payment details. The trial is offered once per person and per Mac, and we may withhold or end it where it is being abused. When it ends nothing is charged; generating stops until you buy the licence, and credits you bought during it stay on your account. Buying during the trial starts your paid year from the day you pay.
• If a renewal payment does not go through, or renewal is off, the licence ends when the paid year ends. Generating then stops until the licence is renewed. Your library stays on your Mac, and the app still opens and organises it.
• We may change the price of the licence. A new price applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you by email before that renewal is charged.

Accounts

An account is identified by your email address. Keep access to that inbox secure: anyone who can open a sign-in link can use your account and its credits. One person may hold one account.

Chitra Credits

• Credits are a prepaid balance used to pay for generations. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
• The price of each generation is shown before you run it and is charged when the result arrives. A generation that fails or is refused is not charged.
• Credits you buy do not expire, and are spent while your licence is current: if the licence ends, they wait on your account and can be spent again once it is renewed. Credit packs are sold to accounts with a current licence or trial.
• Included and promotional credits may be withdrawn if they were obtained by abuse.
• To prevent card fraud, a newly paying account may be limited in how much it can spend during the first 24 hours after its first purchase. The credits remain yours.

Refunds

To request a refund, email support@chitra.studio from the address on your Chitra account. Refunds are handled by email only; there is no refund button in the app.

• The free trial lets you try everything before paying, so licence payments are not refundable as a rule. If something has gone wrong, write to us and we will consider a refund case by case. To avoid a renewal, turn it off before the renewal date.
• When a licence is refunded, it ends and will not renew, generating stops on that account, and any of the included credits not yet used are removed. Your library and everything you made stay yours.
• Credit packs are not refundable, whether or not the credits have been used. Credits do not expire, so they stay available to you.
• If a generation was charged in error, write to support@chitra.studio from your account's email address and we will return the credits.
• When a payment is disputed with the card issuer, spending on the account is paused while it is reviewed.
• Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

Your content and how you use Chitra Studio

• You are responsible for your prompts, the images you supply and what you do with the results.
• Do not use Chitra Studio to create content that is illegal, that sexualises minors, that depicts real people in a sexual or defamatory way without their consent, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• The models are run by third-party providers, which apply their own content rules and may refuse a request.
• Do not attempt to obtain credits by creating multiple accounts, to resell access, or to interfere with the service.

The service

We work to keep the service available, but generation depends on third-party providers and may be interrupted. Model availability and prices can change. AI results are unpredictable: we do not promise that a result will match your prompt or be fit for a particular purpose.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the app and the service are provided as they are, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Ending

You may stop using Chitra Studio at any time; your library stays on your Mac. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

If we ever decide to end Chitra Studio, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before generating stops. From that notice no licence is renewed, and credits you bought can be spent until generating stops. Your library is not affected: it is a folder of ordinary files on your Mac.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Chennai have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law of the place where you live that cannot be waived.

Changes and contact

We will give notice in the app or by email before a change that matters takes effect.
